Background Verification (BGV): how it works
Background Verification (BGV) lets your HR team order background checks on employees and candidates, route them to external providers, track progress and read a final risk-scored report. Meanwhile, candidates self-submit their own documents and consent through a personal portal.
Who does what
BGV has three roles:
- Admin (HR/Org Admin/CEO) — orders and manages every case. Admin sub-tabs are ◎ Overview, Verifications, New Case, Insights and Settings, plus a Candidates directory matrix and Integrations screens.
- Manager — sees Overview, Verifications and New Case, scoped to their team's cases.
- Employee/Candidate — completes their own verification under My Background Verification · Submit documents · Track status (sub-tab ✦ My Verifications).
Some actions are HR/CEO-only: initiating a check with a provider, the master initiate all, and re-sending an invite.
Check types and credit costs
Each check costs a fixed number of credits and is routed to a provider:

Case statuses
A case moves through these status chips: Draft, Invited, Submitted, In progress and Completed. When a case is Completed the chip shows the verdict — ✓ Verified, ⚑ Flagged or ✕ Rejected.
Within the Candidates directory matrix, statuses read Verified, Flagged, Failed, In progress or Not started. Individual checks show ✓ Passed, ⚑ Flagged, ✕ Failed, In progress, Queued, Pending or Not started.
Risk score and bands
Every completed case carries a numeric risk score and a band: Low, Medium or High. Progress percentages track the case stage — completed 100%, in progress 55%, submitted 25% and invited 10%.
Providers
Checks route to external providers: OnGrid (identity, PAN, address, education), KonnectNXT (employment, criminal, credit) and Manual (reference). Perfios is planned for credit / financial checks.
