Complete your background verification (employee)
When your employer requests a background verification, you complete it yourself in My Verifications — filling in your details, uploading documents and giving consent. This article walks you through the three-step wizard.
Find your verification
Open your ✦ My Verifications sub-tab. If nothing is pending you'll see No active verification — When your employer requests a background verification, it appears here to complete. Once you're Invited, the wizard opens with a progress ring and three chips: 1 Details · 2 Documents · 3 Consent.
Step 1 — Your information
Fill in Your information: name, DOB, father's name, PAN, Aadhaar (masked), current and permanent address and phone. Select Save details. If you skip ahead you'll see Save your details first.
Step 2 — Upload documents
On Upload documents you'll see a coverage list showing each check as ✓ Covered or Needed, with the acceptable documents for each. A tip reminds you: "One document can cover multiple checks — e.g. Aadhaar or Passport covers both Identity and Address."
Documents map to checks as follows:
- Aadhaar → Identity + Address
- PAN → Identity
- Degree Certificate → Education
- Relieving Letter → Employment
- 2 Reference Contacts → Reference
- Police Clearance / Consent → Criminal
Use ↺ Reuse {doc} to re-use a document you've already provided elsewhere. You must upload documents covering every required check, or you'll see Upload documents covering every check first.
Step 3 — Consent & submit
On Consent & submit, turn on I consent to a background verification, then select Submit for verification →. If consent is off you'll see Please give consent to proceed. On success you'll see Submitted to your employer ✓.
What happens next
After you submit, your case moves to Submitted, then In progress, then Completed. Along the way you'll see a status ring and card, a checks table and a documents-submitted list (each marked Received). When it completes, a Report card shows Verified · Low risk with ⬇ PDF and 🔗 Share.
The What happens next panel summarises the journey:
- 1️⃣ You consent & upload.
- 2️⃣ Providers verify each check (2–6 days).
- 3️⃣ You and your employer get the final report.
