Geo-fencing and selfie validation

Geo-fencing and selfie validation are additional checks you can layer onto clock-in — on their own, or alongside KredEYE face recognition — to confirm both where and who is punching in.

Geo-fencing

1. On the relevant attendance rule, turn on geo-fencing and set the office location(s) and the allowed radius.
2. Employees assigned to that rule must be within the radius for their clock-in to register. Outside it, the app will show a location error rather than accepting the punch.
3. For employees who genuinely work off-site (field staff, remote workers), either exclude them from the geo-fenced rule or configure a rule that suits their work pattern.

Selfie validation

1. On the attendance rule, enable selfie validation as part of clock-in.
2. At clock-in, the employee is prompted to take a selfie in addition to (or instead of) a KredEYE face match, giving a visual record tied to that punch.
3. This is often used as a lighter-weight identity check where full KredEYE enrollment isn't in place, or as a second layer alongside it.

Combining the two with KredEYE

These checks are independent and can be combined on the same rule — for example, KredEYE face match and geo-fence, so a punch only succeeds when both the right person and the right location are confirmed. Choose the combination that matches how strict your policy needs to be; not every organization needs all three at once.

Common issues

• "Location not available" or punch rejected on location — precise location may be off on the device, or the employee is genuinely outside the configured radius.
• Selfie step won't complete — check camera permissions are allowed for Kredily.
• Works for most employees but not one — check that employee's specific attendance rule assignment; they may be on a different rule than the rest of their team.

When to contact support

If location or selfie checks fail for employees who are genuinely on-site with permissions granted, raise a ticket with the office location, radius setting, and affected employee IDs.
